I know, I know. I am a horrible blogger!!! After I went back to school, I guess that reality took over. There have been so many things in the 15 months that I have cherished. Lucy has grown so quickly. I have written down all the important things in her memories book. There will be many more to write!
She still has the most beautiful red hair that you have ever seen. She is walking now. She is actually running and dancing and crawling over chairs! She has grown into such a perfect little toddler!! She loves to play in her kitchen and with her dollhouse. She and her daddy love to play with her basketball goal. She loves to hide and seek and play Ring around the Rosy! She goes to visit her great-grandparents about once a week and she is absolutely spoiled when she is there. There are so many things that we are learning and so many things that she is teaching us. Lucy loves to play in the bathtub! She tells the water "Bye, bye" when she gets out of the tub. Lucy can say lots of words now. She can say the phrase "Hey, da!" for Hey daddy and "All gone". I can't believe that just a year ago we were waiting for her to crawl and now we are trying to catch her whenever she is running away! It really has gone by fast! I am excited that she is getting bigger, but at the same time it is sad. Everyone who said it goes by too fast---they were right!

Getting Updated!
I have started back to work now and it has really been hectic. Everyone said that this would be the hardest thing that I would have to do, and everyone was right. I miss Lucy so much during the day. I will be walking down the hallway and think of her and miss her so very much! She is really sweet in the mornings. Since the time has changed, she has been waking up around 6:30. It's nice because I get to spend a little time with her in the mornings. She is so happy! She smiles and talks and stretches all around. I think she will be a morning kind of girl! Just like her mama! I have just enough time with her to see her at her happiest time of the day. That really makes me happy! I really hate to leave her, especially when I can see her this happy. She can almost hold her head up, and she makes all kinds of noises. She has grown so much! I can't believe that she is getting so big already! It doesn't seem real that only 11 weeks ago we brought a tiny, new precious baby home. God truly blessed us with a beautiful baby. I only hope that I can be a good mom to her and help her to grow! It is so worrisome to have such a tiny life in your hands and she totally depends on everything you do. It really makes you re-think a lot of things. But, I wouldn't have it any other way! Lucy is the best!

The Last Week
I can't believe that time has flown by so quickly! It seems like just yesterday we were bringing little Lucy home, and now we are getting ready for me to go back to work. I have been holding her and playing with her all the time. I will miss her so much when I go back! I am blessed to only work 5 minutes away. David is only 5 minutes away also. We are also blessed that Mom will be keeping her. Our other option would have been daycare, and I am really glad that we didn't have to do that!
I have been taking lots of pictures while I have been home. In fact, UPS should be delivering about 172 pictures sometime today! I got a great deal on them when I signed up at shutterfly.com.
Lucy has changed so much! She can smile and is working on laughing. There are times when she looks just like Dave! She is sleeping much less during the day and much more during the night! YEA! I never knew that 5 hours of uninterrupted sleep could make me so happy! She can play with her play gym now. She looks at herself in the mirror. She is growing and learning each day. I feel like I will miss so much when I go back to work. I really can't understand how people who have to leave their babies in daycare manage through that first day back at work. It will be hard enough for me!
Our family has been blessed in so many ways! There are things all around us that serve as reminders of how blessed we are. It seems sad that so many people take these blessings for granted, and never see the positive side of things. I hope that as I grow older, and go through trials in life that I may always stay positive and be a positive example for Lucy.

It wasn't as bad as I thought that it would be at the doctor's office yesterday! This may be due to the fact that Lucy didn't get her vaccinations! She was 3 weeks, 6 days old yesterday and Dr. Johnston was afraid to give her shots before she was exactly 4 weeks old. So, next time we go to the doctor she will be getting 3 shots! I'm not looking forward to that!
Other than that she had a great check up! She is 9 lbs, 1 oz, and this weight puts her in the 5oth percentile for her age. I have been worried about her gaining weight the right way. I guess that the hardest part of a new baby for me has been feeding. She also measured a little over 22 inches, which is above average for her age. Perhaps she is going to get some of her Daddy's height, and will at least be a little taller than I am! I really hope so!
She was so good while we were out yesterday. She was content being in her car seat while we were at the doctor's office. When we went to the Galleria, she was happy sleeping in her stroller. It was good to take her somewhere! I was nervous about having her out and about being able to manage all her things. It worked out really well! Her Grandma bought her some new Fall clothes, and her Ya-Ya brought her some this morning. She doesn't even know how good she has it! I don't think we do either!
Oh, and my favorite part about yesterday? Dr. Johnston said that by the time she comes back to visit him not only will she be smiling, but should be laughing! Yesterday she gave Dr. Johnston a great big smile when he came in to see her. David and I spent his entire lunch break waiting for her to smile today! We sat her in the middle of us. She gave us several sweet grins! Who ever knew that a little smile could mean so much!

What a Week!
Well, we have had an interesting week this week! It really all started on Tuesday, when I couldn't find Mom. I also couldn't find Grandmother and Granddaddy, which is strange because they are usually at home at lunchtime. Come to find out, they were on their way to the hospital to take Mom! She was having chest pains. That was pretty scary. Then on Wednesday we had to take Lucy to the doctor. She is having a few problems, but they are not due to the formula. After talking to the doctor, we felt better and she is going to be OK. Then we went to see Mom in the hospital. After running lots of tests, they found out that she is also going to be OK. She didn' t have a heart attack. In fact, her heart looks great! So that is good news. She didn't get released until today (Friday) and she is glad to come home! I have been very worried about her. I don' t even like to see my Mom sick, much less in the hospital!
We did have a milestone last night! Lucy slept through the night (almost). She slept from around midnight to about 5 this morning. That was the longest amount of time that I have slept in about 4 weeks. Everyone was right when they said enjoy your sleep now before the baby comes. But, it is worth every minute of it with her. I only have about 4 more weeks at home, and so each time she is awake I want to spend that time with her. We took her with us twice this week when we went out and she is so wonderful. She lays in her seat and sleeps or she just watches what everyone is doing. I can't wait until she can talk and tell us what she is thinking. I look at her sometimes and I think that David and I are too blessed! There are so many things that we can't take for granted. It really makes you count your blessings!
